June 1st Strike Stream – Guest Guide

Thank you for your interest in participating in our June 1st Strike Solidarity Stream. Please read this guide carefully and if you have any questions you can include them in the Google Form at the end of this document.

Our Plan:

On the evening of May 31st at approximately 8pm Eastern US Time, we will begin a Solidarity Stream to raise money for partner organizations and to raise awareness and support for striking workers and tenants and other direct action events which will be occurring all around the world. The stream will run until 11:59pm Eastern US time on June 1st.

We hope that this stream will be hosted, shared, and signal boosted far and wide. We already have several large Facebook Pages, Twitch Streamers, and YouTubers who will be sharing and hosting our stream, so this is a great idea to show support for the working class and vulnerable people everywhere.

How You Can Participate

We are looking for guests from around the world who would like to report in and discuss experiences, actions, and organizing efforts related to Labor Strikes, Tenant Strikes, Debt Strikes, Direct Action, Mutual Aid, and other activities to relieve workers and vulnerable people in this crisis.

You can call in with video, or with audio-only. You can even call in live or send in pre-recorded footage from actions/events you are participating in.

We also ask that you help signal boost our stream to help raise funds and support for other actions. You can share the link to our official streams as well as other content from our Twitch, YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram accounts.

Thank you for your interest in participating in our June 1st Strike Solidarity Stream. Please read this guide carefully and if you have any questions you can include them in the Google Form at the end of this document.

How You Can Participate

There are two primary ways in which you can participate:

Sign on as a Stream Host

You can join our stream as a host. This will involve entertaining viewers, raising awareness about various issues related to the June 1st activities, and potentially interviewing guests who will be calling in from various actions.

To sign on as a stream host, you must agree to our Stream Guidelines and Code of Conduct below and fill out the Google Form at the end of this document. You will be directed to our Discord Server where the stream will be coordinated.

Signal Boosting

You can signal boost our stream by sharing the link on your social media, highlighting it within your own content, and hosting the stream on Facebook or Twitch or in your Discord Server. The more people we have watching our global stream, the more support and awareness we can raise for striking workers.

Here are some ways you can signal boost our Solidarity Stream:

  • Share links and content from our Twitch, YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram accounts.
  • Host our Stream on Twitch when you’re not streaming.
  • You can have a Solidarity Stream of your own to signal boost our activities and efforts or to raise funds for one of our partner organizations.
  • If you’d like to help raise money for one of our partner organizations at any time, fill out our Google Form at the end of this document.

Stream Guidelines and Code of Conduct

Please read the following VERY CAREFULLY if you plan on joining our stream as a host!!!

IMPORTANT: If you have been banned from Twitch, YouTube, or Facebook Video Streaming you are NOT ELIGIBLE TO BE A HOST FOR OUR STREAM.

This is because many platforms have Terms of Service rules against featuring users who have been banned and our stream/channel could get taken down for featuring you. If we find out that you have been banned from any platform we are streaming to, we will immediately pull you from the stream.

You can still participate by signal boosting our stream and running a parallel stream or event of your own. If you have been banned from any platform please let us know in the Google Form at the end of this document.

(paste in the code of conduct from BB)

How to Call In or Submit Footage:

We are primarily using Discord for calling in and submitting links to footage, but other options may be used as well. If you have another system/app/platform you would prefer to use for calling in or if you have any questions, please let us know in the Google Form at the bottom of this page or ask us on Discord (link to our Discord Server is in the Google Form).

Stream Guidelins:

Please read the guidelines below if you plan to help host our livestream.

Remember, first and foremost: you are representing a broad range of working class organizations and activists by agreeing to come on our stream! Please act and speak in a manner that will reflect well on our partner organizations and our movement.

We want you to have fun and to feel comfortable, but we ask that you try to keep the focus of discussion on topics that are relevant to your June 1st action and the broader movement of worker and tenant rights. Follow the Terms of Service of every platform, please try to keep your language as clean as possible, and refrain from speaking in a divisive manner.
